Dr Kimberly Collins provides independent expert opinion in cases involving communication, child development, investigative interviewing and vulnerability. Her reports combine extensive academic expertise with over 19 years of experience working across the criminal justice system.
As a Chartered Psychologist, Registered Intermediary and former Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, Dr Collins has dedicated her career to understanding how communication, development, trauma and neurodiversity influence a person’s ability to understand, participate and provide evidence. Her opinions are impartial, balanced and grounded in current research and professional best practice.

She holds a First-Class degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Psychological Research Methods (with Distinction), a PhD in Psychology and Chartered Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society. She has published in the fields of child communication, investigative interviewing, intermediary practice and trauma-informed practice, and continues to collaborate on research that informs national practice.
Alongside her academic career, Dr Collins has worked as an intermediary since 2012, supporting vulnerable people in police investigations and criminal courts, and as a defendant intermediary through The Intermediary Cooperative. She has also delivered specialist training to police forces, legal professionals, intermediaries and justice organisations across the UK.
This combination of research expertise, frontline practice and university teaching enables Dr Collins to provide independent opinions that are scientifically rigorous, practically informed and clearly communicated.
